    • Health and wellness intern will asses the needs of clients by reviewing a consultation questionnaire each client will provide after registering for health and wellness programs.
    • Based of this questionnaire and the clients 2 day nutrition tracker, the intern will design a meal plan and specific to the clients needs and goals. All my meal plans will be approved by supervisor before delivered to the client.
    • Intern will provide each new client a workout routine based off their consultation questionnaire specific needs and goals. All workout programs will be reviewed and approved by supervisor before it is given to the client.
    • Intern will also track clients body composition (circumference measurements and body fat %) as they progress through their program.
    • Intern will also assess flexibility, range of motion, base heart rate as well as maximum lifts. All information gathered will be collected and entered into their ELITE Fueling app. Intern will closely monitor how the clients feels during this workout routine as well as daily life by asking them direct questions as well as having them rate their workouts and day through a perceived level of exertion and feel.
    • Intern will make changes to their workout routine as they receive feedback from them and track their results. Intern will also be responsible for keeping up with the client through in app messaging and making sure they are meeting their fitness goals through the meal plan and workout routine given to them. Intern will do so by meeting with them regularly and asking them direct questions.
    • Intern will also be required to do research on peer to peer reviews. Findings will be submitted directly to my supervisor. Some of this evidence based research will be used to help Dan Wilcox write posts on the ELITE Fueling website and or send to clients to help them with their programs.

    ELITE Fueling Performance Nutrition

    • Intern will be responsible for helping, shop, store, stock, and refill nutrition stations in the Football, Baseball and Women’s locker rooms and lounges (if a woman is chosen for this internship other arrangements will be made to fill locker rooms at baseball and Football) stations at the Student Athlete Building.
    • Intern will be directly responsible for completing bodpod (located in the football weight room in the SAB) measurements for the football and baseball team once a month. All bodpod results will be entered into a detailed reporting sheet and provided to supervisor for review.
    • Intern will also be assisting with cooking meat and rice for the Football, Baseball and Women’s Volleyball Teams. All meats will be smoked on Traeger grills located and the SAB. Meat and rice will be packaged for athletes and placed in appropriate fridges in the Football locker room, Womens volleyball lounge, and baseball locker room.
    • Intern will also be required to attend practices, weight training sessions, and games when appropriate to feed the athletes as needed.
    • Intern will provide Nutrition Notes that are quick education topics for other sport teams and Universities that ELITE Fueling works with weekly.

    • At this time all internship opportunities are unpaid however Dan Wilcox will train and provide access to his app, software and knowledge of building personal wellness clientele so intern can begin generating an income through building their own clientele. Interns in the past who have done this have made $2,000-$4,000 a month.

    • Our Fitness Management Internship will allow those interested in a career in the health and fitness industry a chance to gain skills and experience in gym and personnel management.
    • This intern will work directly with our Fitness Coordinator to learn the ins-and-outs of managing two fitness facilities, instructors, personal trainers and additional staff. They will be trained to manage our Fitness 101 program, work through patron requests and have a hand in the day-to-day and long term operations of the Provo Recreation Center. We cater this experience to the interest and long term career goals for the intern. We also ask our interns to help with any fitness related events or programs.
    • Interns will gain experience in group instruction, one-on-one personal training and wellness coaching. They will work side by side with a certified instructor to gain as much experience as possible within a safe environment. They will asked to help set up and take down equipment, offer a possible warm up, form correction and/or co-teach depending on what the intern is currently licensed or certified to do. We cater this experience to the interest of the intern. Whether that be working with seniors or kids, dance fitness, weight lifting, functional fitness, yoga, or circuit training…we do our best to give each intern an individualized experience.
    • Interns also run a class that is called Fitness 101. This class is typically for people who are new to the gym and are not quite sure how to get started. They administer a body composition analysis test using our Inbody machine that provides patron's with the amount of water in their body, their dry lean mass, body fat mass and weight. Interns will be asked to provide goal setting, fitness and/or basic nutrition solutions to patrons. We also ask our interns to help with any fitness related events or programs we are running and manage a project specifically geared toward their internship.
