SYP Collaborators

The Strong Youth Project is committed to collaborating with those who share our values and concerns. We are extremely grateful to collaborators who help us accomplish our mission and aims.

Intermountain Health

Intermountain Health is the center of healthcare in Utah and the Mountain West with 385 clinics and 33 hospitals. We are now collaborating with Intermountain Health to accomplish our mission and aims. Working with medical professionals has been vital in our efforts to spread accurate information that will (1) help young athletes grow and progress, and (2) conduct cutting-edge research that will help young people improve their physical and mental health. We especially thank Dr. Anthony Beutler who leads Intermountain Health's Sports Medicine programs and currently serves on the Strong Youth Project Advisory Board.

Shooters Soccer Club

Shooters Soccer Club is a premier soccer club based in Spanish Fork, UT where 850 youth athletes train. Shooters SC has been an exceptional partner of the Strong Youth Project since its inception in 2022. We have worked with many youth athletes at Shooters in research projects focused on improving coaching techniques and enhancing performance. With the help of Shooters and their coaches, we are currently working to develop a curriculum for young athletes that will improve their physical abilities and help them develop virtues, including leadership, respect, teamwork, and resilience.

Provo High School and Timpview High School

In our efforts to reduce injury and improve the overall experience, we are implementing pilot studies with high school athletic teams at Provo and Timpview High Schools. Athletes on these athletic teams complete daily surveys and report on their levels of soreness, nutrition, hydration levels, and mental health status. Athletic trainers and coaches then receive a personally unidentified report for their team and they can adjust practice accordingly to their athletes' needs. They may also choose to focus on different areas like sleep, nutrition, competition anxiety, depression, etc. to improve their team's well-being.
